On occasion, gas bottles can be overfilled slightly, when this happens, the pilot will light but when you take your hand off the control knob, the heater will go out.
If you take the bottle outside and disperse a little of the gas from the bottle by pressing down on the brass valve
on the top of the bottle with something like a screwdriver, 9 out of 10 times this will rectify the problem.
Another common reason is, if the heater has been in use in a room with insufficient ventilation then your heater will fail to light or stay lit, there are safety mechanisms in place that detect levels of harmful gases which shut off the heater off and ensure the heater does not light when it is detected and this is to keep the user safe. When gas is burned harmful gases are produced which is why it is essential to have adequate ventilation at opposite ends of the room to ensure a good flow of fresh air and any harmful gases can escape the room - we understand this may sound counter-productive but this is essential to keep you and people around you safe and the heater functional. Please ensure ventilation is provided inline with the instruction manual in the room the heater is being used in.
