My gas cabinet heater won't turn off

Modified on Tue, 18 Oct 2022 at 12:05 PM

Turn the top control dial to the off position, (this does not turn off the gas)

To stop the flow of gas it must be turned off at the lever on the regulator which is attached to the gas bottle.

Once the lever is turned off it will take a few minutes for the gas to distinguish/stop flowing as there will still be gas left in the gas hose, pilot, pipes & burners.

This is a safety feature on most indoor cabinet heaters.

The gas cabinet heaters are 'heat on demand' products and therefore must be turned off when not in use. There is no pilot only setting on the heater in between uses as this is a potential fire risk.
